All The Black Folks Who Are Getting A Star On The Hollywood Walk of Fame Next Year

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced the list of entertainers who will be honored with their own star on the walk of fame. Since this is a site for Black women, we're highlighting the Black men and women who are grabbing their piece of real estate. It comes as a surprise to me that Uncle Snoop hasn’t already earned his star on the walk of fame. Then again, Hip Hop is just getting the mainstream respect and recognition it deserved all along. Being that Snoop is a pop culture icon at this point, it’s much deserved. Image via WENN

F. Gary Gray

Famed director F. Gary Gray is the mastermind behind some our favorite classic and cult classic films like Friday, Set It Off, The Negotiator, The Italian Job, and Straight Outta Compton, and perhaps most commercially successful The Fast and the Furious. Image via WENN

Anthony Anderson

Anthony Anderson has been grinding for a while in the game. From little bit parts where he would steal every scene to now the lead in a successful sitcom, we're happy to see he's finally being rewarded.

Mary J. Blige

Another surprise but then again, the mainstream's acceptance and understanding of the LGBT community is just now beginning to broach where it should be.

Known for her roles in Avatar, the highest grossing film of all-time, Colombiana and for me, Drumline, Saldana is another one who's been putting in work. From rapper to playing a detective on "Law and Order" and doing it all very well, we can say that Ice T has had a very diverse and long lasting career in various forms of entertainment.

Niecy Nash

I don't know if you've noticed by Niecy Nash keeps a job. I remember first seeing her on "Clean House" and then being surprised to learn she was playing a cop on "Reno 911." Love this one! We all knew that Bernie Mac was extraordinarily talented and for the public, perhaps the most tragic part of his death was that we knew that he still had so much more to give.
