We are just a little more than five weeks away from the debut of Season 5 of “Orange is the New Black” which may be the most impactful yet. At the end of Season four, we witnessed the emotional death of fan favorite Poussey and were left on the edge of our seats when a riot among the inmates as a result of Poussey’s murder ended in Daya holding a gun and faced with the hard decision of whether or not to use it.
“Picking up right where we left off, season five takes you back to that contentious moment in the prison’s halls where decisions made will forever affect those inside, and outside the gates,” a press release for the new season notes, adding, “no matter what the outcome, life at Litchfield will never be the same.”
Though Samira Wiley won’t be returning this season, our other favorites like Uzo Aduba, Danielle Brooks, Adrienne C. Moore, Vicky Jeudy, and obviously Dascha Polanco will. Check out the 60-second trailer for the new season below. What do you think will happen?
