Last month we asked you if it’s ever okay to befriend the enemy of your former friend after reality star Rashidah Ali was spotted making nice with Nicki Minaj. Ali and Remy Ma were supposed to be close friends, and, if you’ll recall, Nicki and Remy fell out earlier this year and brought us perhaps the year’s biggest rap beef. But questions of loyalty were taken a step further after Nicki released a video for her diss track, “No Frauds,” (made in response to Remy’s “SHEther”) and Ali was featured in it. She makes an appearance right when Nicki makes allegations about her rap counterpart having some unsuccessful plastic surgery.
Ali didn’t consider herself disloyal and claimed that she wasn’t working with Nicki out of spite, but most people didn’t believe her. The question is, did Remy?
In a new interview with Power 106’s The Cruz Show in Los Angeles, Remy stated that while she believes Ali was disloyal (originally saying “Who?” when her former BFF’s name was brought up), she wasn’t surprised by her appearance in the clip, nor does she truly care.
“I wasn’t particularly shocked,” she said. “I wasn’t really shocked. You know what? Nothing shocks me anymore … I’m never like, ‘Oh my god I can’t believe it!’ Nothing really shocks me and nothing really moves me neither. I have to care to be like, ‘Oh my god!’ But if you don’t care, it really doesn’t matter at all. I would guess the only question that probably piqued my mind was like, ‘Why you lying though?’ Hmm, strange. Alright, moving along.”
“That’s like if you guys stopped speaking or you guys not hanging with each other and to make me mad, you hang with somebody that you think has a problem with me,” she added. “That doesn’t make me mad. That makes me say, ‘Good thing that I’m not around you.’ Like, ‘Whew! Dodged that bullet!’ It doesn’t make you feel any type of way. So I guess, if that was supposed to be a shot, kinda missed with that one.”
But for the record, Remy isn’t mourning the loss of her friendship with Ali, nor is she thinking about Nicki at this point. Instead, she’s promoting new projects, planning to expand her family and just being happy. Because honestly, people don’t want to see her mad. It wouldn’t be good for anybody.
“People don’t want to see me angry, like people should be happy when I’m chilling,” Remy said. “Like I’ll be chilling, laughing, joking. I’m not really a nice person when I’m
angry and I’ve been happy for like some years now. I’m very happy. I’m happy I have people that love me and that support me no matter what that I’m going through. My career is good. My money is good. My son is good. I don’t really have anything to complain about at all. Period.”
